Ongoing, subscription-based coaching
$225 per month
6 month minimum commitment
Here's how it works:

-
Much like having your own personal money fairy on retainer, this option gives you the opportunity to schedule as many financial coaching sessions as you need to keep working toward your big goals, although most of my clients meet with me on a monthly basis.
-
Because not every question or issue requires an in-depth Zoom meeting, you'll also have the ability to message me via WhatsApp for quick questions or even for accountability to talk you out of that lamp you're eyeing at Target because you already told me you don't need anything else for your place and you really want to live a more minimalistic life.
-
I'll keep notes of what we discuss, and when the situation calls for it, I'll do some follow-up research to get answers for you, but otherwise, you're the one doing the work.
-
If you're as addicted to the 'gram as I am, we'll follow each other and I'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders, sliding into your comments and DMs with words of affirmation and love. (I'm @financialblisscoach if you want to get started on that right now).
-
Don't worry, you won't need to hide your stories from me when you book that trip to Portugal - more likely, I'll just give you hot tips (like try to get to the Azores if you can).
Why the 6-month minimum requirement?
A few reasons:
-
First, I LOVE MY CLIENTS and I want to see you succeed with your efforts to upgrade your money habits, mindsets and savings and having a monthly commitment (or more) for at least a half a year is the best way I know to make that happen.
-
In my experience working with over 2,500 individuals and couples over the years, having that accountability is the most effective way to make real improvements when you're working to upgrade habits and break cycles. The first couple sessions are just the beginning; in order to make changes that stick and that feel good, you need at LEAST 6 months of work with a pro.
-
A lot of the actions you need to take to get your spending straightened out or to truly automate a debt pay-off plan are not fun and you'll do just about anything to procrastinate that task, whether it's analyzing your spending or researching alternatives to your credit cards. Our scheduled coaching session gives you the deadline you need to take those steps you know you need to take so that you can make actual progress toward your financial bliss.
-
One-off money coaching sessions are a great way to get an unbiased answer to technical stuff from a CPA and CFP® professional who's not selling anything (that's me!). If that's all you need, that's why I offer that option. However, my professional experience has taught me that most people who seek out a financial coach have tried to do this themselves time and again and really do need the accountability of our shame-free, judgement-free and dare I say fun(?) meetings, along with ongoing access for the little things that come up.
-
Finally, who wouldn't want at least 6 months of empowering, action-oriented, shame-free, judgement-free partnership with an experienced, passionate and unbiased personal finance pro who totally gets what it's like to feel overwhelmed by your finances? (that's me too, by the way - I've overcome 5- figure debt more than once in my life so I totally get how easy it is to get there and how frustrating it can be to get out of it.)

Wait, I thought you said this was unlimited. Why all the talk of monthly stuff?
Good catch! We will decide on the best rhythm for our sessions together, which for many people is monthly for those in-depth, set-an-hour-aside, focused Zoom calls. But if you need or want more often than that, cool! You can do that. I just know that AT LEAST monthly is necessary to make progress, while more often than that is sometimes needed, especially in those early days. Most important is that you know I'm here for you whenever and that you don't have to wait until our next formal session to get help if you need it.

Is there any type of process you use? What can I expect during our sessions?
Great question! I do have a rough roadmap for how our journey together might go (see below for the rough outline), but I also know through experience that no two people have the same needs or issues or situation, so my first priority is meeting you where you are so that we're not forcing some pre-set process that doesn't fulfill what you need.
Here's the rough order of things that I keep as a reference to help us continue to make progress once your most important questions and issues are addressed:

Getting started: The first session is all about getting to know you through a review of the pre-coaching workbook that I'll send you before our first session, as well as a download of all your questions, concerns, open issues, etc. Before we wrap up, we'll agree to an order of prioritization of what to address next and we'll set our next follow-up and I'll email you with the crucial to-dos.

If paying off debt is at the top of your list, then our next steps will probably look like:
-
Creating a first draft of your debt-payoff plan so you can have a realistic idea of when you can be debt-free. Yes, this will require you to take a look at all your accounts so you can accurately complete the Debt Inventory I'll send you...
-
Performing a cash flow analysis to see where your money has been going and discuss where you might want it to go differently going forward. If it's the right fit, I'll introduce you to my super-sexy Cash Flow Projection tool, but if you'd rather have a root canal than deal with a spreadsheet, we'll skip that part.
-
There will probably be some changes you need to make to the way you handle money on a day-to-day basis, but what those changes are will not be clear until we've dug into your existing habits, processes and money mindset. These first couple steps are the focus of at least the first 3 months together, and often 6, while you adjust, try things, learn and navigate the bumps that will inevitably come up.
-
Along the way, I'll be there peppering you with encouragement, positive reinforcement, reminders of what you're doing RIGHT and a strong focus on keeping you out of the shame spiral that can keep you stuck. I'll also be offering different exercises that are more focused on money mindset and financial therapy-esque, which I'll introduce as needed.

If debt and/or cash flow isn't a thing for you, or once the debt paydown plan is in full swing, then we get into:
-
Based on what your top concerns are, we'll typically go over various longer-term savings options. Think: Roth IRA, 401(k), 403(b), saving for retirement if you don't have a 401(k), Health Savings Accounts, saving for college, Social Security, Medicare, other goals...
-
While it sounds simple, this step can take several months between educating you on the options and actually getting stuff set up (I will literally hold your digital hand while you screenshare and open that Roth or request that 401(k) rollover - I got you, babe!)
-
After that, I'm going to want to talk about insurance, estate planning, what traditional financial planners call "risk management" (and what a lot of financial advisors offering "free" financial plans typically start with, because this is where they make bank). You're going to hate it, but it's something we need to discuss at some point.
-
Remember, I don't sell any products and I am not a registered investment advisor because I am not in the business of giving investing or insurance advice. However, talking about these topics is a key aspect of a secure financial foundation, so we will get into the educational aspects and I can help you to vet options, if that's necessary.

There's a lot more in there, but the bottom line is that getting to all that stuff takes at LEAST 6 months, usually more, so at this point we'll make a plan for what's next, depending on how all of the above goes. I offer different coaching packages to "alumni" clients, which we can discuss when the time comes to release you into the wild world of DIY financial planning...
